    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected:  [All]

    Description:

When setting up a SAML integration with Tanium, there is an error on the Tanium side:

Request lacks valid authentication credentials for the requested resource

    Cause:

Tanium's logging does not specify what the error alludes to and they do not have documentation for SecureAuth. However, the reason for the error is the email address not being sent over properly via SAML.

    Resolution:

Pass the claim for email address via SAML Attribute with Format as URI:

    https://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress

    Special Considerations (optional as needed):

    Use SP-intiated by POST
