Version Affected: Up to 20.06
Description:
SecureAuth Identity Platform (IdP) 'requires' certain versions of .NET Core to be installed, the older the version of Identity Platform (IdP), the older the version of .NET Core
See here for more information - https://docs.secureauth.com/2404/en/secureauth-compatibility-guide.html#required--net-versions
Cause:
IdP 'requires' .NET Core for full operational ability
As the latest version of IdP for an Air Gapped deployment is 20.06, it is required to have .NET Core 2.1 installed on it, which is out of support with MS and therefore not ideal to keep installed due to potential security concerns
Due to the above, the question often arises of 'Can I remove .NET Core from my Air Gapped deployment?'
Resolution:
In an Air Gapped deployment of 20.06, .NET Core can be removed from the system without negative impact to Identity Platform (IdP)
.NET Core is used for New Experience Realms and New Experience Administration in 20.06, as it is an Air Gapped deployment, New Experience will not be in use and therefore .NET Core is not a requirement
