How to use a domain account to log audit data into SQL Server

Follow
    Applies to:
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected:  All

    Description:

When configuring the SQL Reporting database, it is possible to use a domain account instead of specifying SQL credentials by selecting Integrated Security.

However, this doesn't allow you to specify the Windows Creds in the Admin Console

    Cause:

Once you enable Integrated Security, we'll use the AppPool Identity.

    Resolution:

    1. Ensure the IdP is joined to the domain to utilize a domain account.

    2. In IIS, set the application pool Identity for both the .NET v4.5 and SecureAuth0 app pools to use the  domain account; and set Load User Profile to True.

    3. Make the Domain account is a member of the local administrators group of the SecureAuth IdP server(s). (login as batch right required)
