URLScan causes issues with Windows Server 2016 and above

    Description:  

    With older versions of Windows server, an admin would install URLScan to protect against malicious URL's or HTTP Request Methods sent to a webserver.

     

    Cause:  

    Windows Server 2016 and above have URLScan built-in to IIS by means of Request Filtering and having URLScan installed may conflict with the Request Filtering and URL Rewrite rules applied to the IIS Server.

     

    Resolution:  

    Uninstall URLScan from any Windows Server 2016 and above to remedy the issue.
