As you expand the use of Time-Based One Time Passcodes (TOTP) Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), you might start to noticing that different Authenticator Apps might have different requirements. They all support different Time Intervals and Passcode lengths which can be difficult to figure out right away. This is independent of the SecureAuth IdP version your are running as these are standalone mobile applications.
Here are the Time Intervals and Passcode Lengths currently supported by each application:
SecureAuth Authenticate: Any seconds - 6 or 8 digits
Google Authenticator: 30 seconds only - 6 or 8 digits
Microsoft Authenticator: 30 seconds only - 6 digits only
Also, if you want to use SecureAuth Authenticate as a mobile app for a third-party application that has their own enrollment, we are able to accommodate for third-party QR code enrollment pages. However, some third-party applications may not have a QR code that is usable to mobile applications that are not their own.
Please do note that these are subject to change. There have been changes to these Authenticator applications by their publishers in the past without notification. With that being said, SecureAuth plans on keeping this list up-to-date with any information we receive and through our own testing.
