Version Affected: All
Description:
When using Classic realms, there is no way of deleting a realm within the Administrator's Console.
Cause:
Unused realms can be reconfigured for new use but there are times when removing the realm is preferred.
Resolution:
To manually remove a realm:
1. Login to the IdP server as an administrator 2. Open IIS Manager 3. Browse to <ServerName> --> Sites --> Default Web Site |
|
4. Select the realm that is to be deleted 5. Right click and select "Remove"
Removing does not delete the realm, this removes the IIS Application |
|
6. Open File Explorer and browse to D:\Secureauth 7. Right click the folder 8. Select "Delete" to remove the folder |
The SecureAuth realm is now deleted.
Special Considerations (optional as needed):
Deleting a realm is a wipe. If the configuration should be saved, decrypt the web.config via the Administration Console and make a backup of said file prior to deleting the realms folder. This will only save the configuration. If Transformation Engine is also enabled and configured, the file \realm\PostAuthData\userprofiledata.sxlt should also be taken in the backup.
