Invalid User, Incorrect Group or Error Retrieving Contact information on New Experience Realms

Follow
    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
Deployment model:
  • Hybrid
  • Version Affected:  23.07

    Description:

In 23.07 using a New Experience application that has multiple Datastores listed a sporadic error occurs of either Invalid User, Incorrect Group or Error Retrieving Contact information.

Even when this error is occurring, most people can log in, the issue is typically seen for one datastore at a time so all users from that datastore fail but the remaining users can log in just fine.

    Cause:

When a realm (application) is initialized, it reaches out to get the latest datastore information. In 23.07 there is a race condition which means if you have several datastores not all datastores are returned in time.

    Resolution:

Scheduled for fix in the next hotfix for 23.07.

    Special Considerations :

There are many other reasons that will trigger the same error message. This KB is solely for the defect mentioned above.
