Password Reset error message not highlighted in red

    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected:  20.06 onwards

When a user attempts to change their password and it fails to change for a reason, such as not meeting complexity requirement, this is no longer highlighted in red, making the exception easy to miss.

The password reset page is specifically looking for the word "Exception" before it highlights the result field in red.

    1. Open the Admin Console and go to the Advanced Settings for the realm in question
    2. Go to the Overview tab and click on the Content and Localisation editor
    3.  Find the passwordreset_notchanged variable and change the text from Password was not changed to something with the word "Exception" in it. For example, Password was not changed, Exception:image.png
    4. Hit save.
    5. Try again to reset your password with a bad password and it should now highlight in red.image.png
