RADIUS Server Processing Error NullPointerException

Version Affected:  RADIUS Server v2.x+

Description:  

Receive this error message after upgrading RADIUS Server to a newer version.

ERROR UDPRadiusProcessor: Radius processing error
java.lang.NullPointerException

Cause:  

During an upgrade from your older version to a newer version of RADIUS Server, the configurations cannot have blank attributes due to the code not handling null values.

Resolution:  

1. Go to your RADIUS Clients.

2. Check for any clients that have blank attributes mapped.

3. Remove the value that was mapped to a blank RADIUS attribute and Save.

Note: You may need to reinstall/revert the upgrade and make these changes beforehand.
