Some Users prompted for MFA despite using Fingerprinting

Follow
    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected:  All

    Description:

On a realm where DFP is enabled, some Users report being prompted for MFA at every login despite selecting Private Mode.

    Cause:

If the User has ever used Public mode, the Cookie persists and we pick the most secure option when confronted with 2 cookies.

    Resolution:

This has been logged as a defect with our Dev Team.

The workaround for now is to clear the "Public" cookie from the Users browser.

    1. Open the browser and navigate to the realm in question

    2. Hit F12 (or Ctrl + Shift + J) to Open Developer Tools

    3. Click Application | Cookies

    4. Remove the SecureAuthLoginSecureAuthXX cookie(s)
