Description: When selecting an Extended SAML Attribute from drop-down in Post Auth tab to map it with a custom property added under Profile Fields section in Data-tab, the below error pops-up.

"An error in the authentication has occurred. Please Try Again. If the error persists, please contact your Administrator"

Cause:  When Custom Errors Turned Off on Admin Realm, an actual error shows up.

This happens when a custom property deleted from Profile fields in Data-tab and that custom property was mapped with an Extended SAML Attribute in the Post-Auth tab you are selecting.

In this example, a custom property "Street Name" was added under Profile fields in Data-tab and mapped with Extended SAML Attribute 1 in Post Auth. Later, this custom property deleted from Data-tab.

    Resolution:

In Web.config, Extended SAML Attribute is still referring to a deleted custom property.

Decrypt web.config using admin console and clear out the highlighted section for "ExtendedSAMLAttr1Value". Additionally, value for "ExtendedSAMLAttr1Name" can also be cleared out.

    Save the changes.

Now, an Extended SAML Attribute should be available to re-use.
