Webservice realm stops working if Lookup realm is set to use WinSSO

Follow
    Applies to:
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: All

    Description:

When a lookup realm (AD, SQL etc.) is set to use Windows SSO (IWA) any Webservice realms that depend on it fail to work anymore

    Cause:

Switching to WinSSO turns on Windows Integrated Authentication for the entire realm, which is then inherited by subfolders.  The problem is that the webservices do not use that authentication method so IIS will return a 401.1 error when the Webservice realm hits the lookup realm.

    Resolution:

Copy the attached file to the realms' WebService folder.

e.g. final path of file should be:

    D:\SecureAuth\SecureAuthXX\WebService\web.config
