Zombie Cookie Registration Error with Universal Browser Credential (UBC)

Follow
    Applies to:
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • On Premises
  • Affected SecureAuth IdP Versions: All versions

    Description:

When a user is logging onto a realm using Private Mode with Universal Browser Credential enabled, the user receives the following error:

    Cause:

The zombie cookie that is injected to the browser during the login process becomes stale and cannot be removed due to the sticky nature of the zombie cookies.

    Resolution:

The use of Universal Browser Credential (UBC) has been deprecated after SecureAuth IdP v9.0. It is still available as an option, but it is no longer recommended. For a short term fix, the user can still log in using Public Mode. We recommend switching Browser/Device Fingerprinting for a long term solution.
