Description:
When trying to configure an SNMP service between IdP DMZ and internal servers, and after installing the SNMP service and rebooting the servers, it is noticed that Security, Traps, and agent tabs are missing from SNMP service.
Cause:
By default, Windows 2012 does not include SNMP Tools. Installing SNMP Tools will add the missing Security, Traps, and agent tab to the SNMP service.
Resolution:
1. Go into Control Panel and select “Turn Windows features on or off” under Programs.
2. Click the “Next” button several times until you get to the “Select Features” screen.
3. Expand “Remote Server Administration Tools->Feature Administration Tools” and check “SNMP Tools”.
4. Click “Install.”
5. Once this is complete, reboot the server. This should add the missing tabs to SNMP service in windows 2012 services.
