SecureAuth Authenticate (iOS): Push Notifications and/or Login Requests Not Displaying After iCloud Restore

Follow
    Applies to:
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • On Premises
  • SecureAuth Authenticate App Version: All

    Description:

When restoring the SecureAuth Authenticate app from an iCloud backup, push notifications and/or login requests do not work. Time-based, one-time passcodes will work without any issue. This issue may be seen more commonly with the release of the iPhone X.

    Cause:

The push notification token that is stored is unique to each device. When the app is restored from a backup, it uses the previous device's key, which causes the push notifications and/or login requests to not be displayed.

    Resolution:

Delete the SecureAuth Authenticate app from the device, and re-install the app from the Apple App Store.
