A 'Compilation Error' occurs when the Network Service account does not have permissions to the 'C:\Windows\Temp' folder

    Description:

    The following error occurs when the Network Service account does not have write permissions to the 'C:\Windows\Temp' folder:

     

    Resolution:

    By default, the Network Service account is part of the 'NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users' group.  To remedy this issue, please verify that the 'Authenticated Users' group is a part of the 'Users' group:

     

    Next, verify that the 'Users' group has the following permissions set on 'C:\Windows\Temp':

     

    Finally, verify that there is no GPO or Windows Scheduled Task causing the 'C:\Windows\Temp' directory to be removed and recreated with only 'C:\Windows' permission inheritance.
