Troubleshooting: Password Reset Fails With "Method or Operation Is Not Implemented" in a Multi Data Store Realm

    Overview

    In a realm using a Multi Data Store (web service) workflow with Password Reset configured on Post Authentication, resetting a password fails with the error:

    Password was not changed - The method or operation is not implemented

     

    Cause

    The Unlock User Account capability isn't supported in a Multi Data Store (web service) workflow.

     

    Resolution:

    Disable the Unlock User Account function for the realm:

    1. Open the SecureAuth Admin Console and select the realm to update.
    2. Go to the Post Authentication tab, and in the Password Reset section, click Configure password reset page.
    3. In the Password Reset Functions section, set Unlock User Account to False.
    4. Click Save to confirm the change.
