Overview
A Compilation Error occurs when the Network Service account does not have write permissions to the C:\Windows\Temp folder, as shown below.
Cause
By default, the Network Service account is a member of the NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users group.
Resolution:
- Verify that the Authenticated Users group is a member of the Users group, as shown below.
- Verify that the Users group has the following permissions set on C:\Windows\Temp, as shown below.
- Verify there is no Group Policy Object (GPO) or Windows Scheduled Task causing the C:\Windows\Temp directory to be removed and recreated with only C:\Windows permission inheritance.
