Troubleshooting: Data Tab Disabled on a Classic Realm That Reuses a New Experience Realm Number

  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: All

    Overview

After deleting a New Experience realm and creating a new Classic realm with the same realm number, Advanced Settings keeps the Data tab disabled for that Classic realm.

    Cause

The Data tab is disabled by design for New Experience realms. The browser caches whether a given realm number is New Experience or Classic for as long as it stays open, so when a new Classic realm reuses a realm number the browser last saw as New Experience, it keeps applying that New Experience restriction and disables the Data tab.

    Resolution:

Close every open instance of the browser and reopen it. This clears the cached realm-type information, and the new Classic realm's Data tab becomes accessible.
