How To: Uninstall FileSync

Overview

This article explains how to uninstall FileSync from the Primary and/or Secondary server, which is sometimes required as part of troubleshooting or reconfiguration.

• Use Method 1 to uninstall FileSync through Windows' standard Add/Remove Programs interface
• Use Method 2 to uninstall FileSync from the command line instead

Method 1: Add/Remove Programs

1. Open Add/Remove Programs and search for SecureAuth Filesync Service.
2. Select SecureAuth Filesync Service and choose Uninstall.

Method 2: Command Line

1. Open a command prompt as Administrator.
2. Browse to the FileSync installation package, held in D:\MFC_AppBin\Appliance_Sync.
3. Run setup.bat uninstall.

Special Considerations

Both methods above have, at times, been seen to leave the SecureAuth FileSync service still present on the system.

If reinstalling the same version of FileSync, simply run the installation package again. If you need to remove the leftover service manually instead, run the following command, then restart the server (a restart is likely required after removing the service):

sc.exe delete SecureAuthFileSyncServiceAllInOne
