Version Affected: 20.06 and newer
Overview
The RADIUS server responds slowly, and gets progressively slower as it receives more traffic.
Cause
The RADIUS server calls the realm's API for every authentication. If that realm's Post Authentication action is set to Self Service or Helpdesk, the realm makes several attempts to gather the user's FIDO2 device information on every authentication — even if the realm is not using FIDO2 at all. This adds overhead to every RADIUS request, and the effect compounds as request volume increases.
Resolution
- Open the Web Admin Console and navigate to the realm in question.
- Change the Post Authentication action to something other than Self Service or Helpdesk.
