Overview
Okta and SecureAuth use different terminology for some of the same settings when configuring a SAML application. This article maps each Okta SAML term to its SecureAuth Identity Platform equivalent.
Terminology Mapping
The following terms are equivalent between the two platforms:
- Okta's Single Sign On URL is SecureAuth's SP Start URL: the URL the identity provider (IdP) sends the user to in order to begin single sign-on (SSO).
- Okta's Recipient URL is SecureAuth's SAML Recipient: the URL the SAML response is addressed to.
- Okta's Destination URL is SecureAuth's SAML Consumer URL: the URL the service provider (SP) expects to receive the SAML response at.
- Okta's Audience URL is SecureAuth's SAML Audience: the intended recipient of the SAML assertion, validated by the SP.
- Okta's Default RelayState is SecureAuth's WSFedReply To / SAML Target URI: the URL the user is redirected to after a successful SAML response.
