Version Affected: 23.07 HF1 through HF11, and 24.4.0 through 24.4.3
Bug Number: N/A
Bug Status: Closed - Fixed
Fixed in Version(s): 24.4.7
Overview
In a realm with QR Login enabled on its Authentication Policy, the error log may fill with repeated entries such as Mobile Service Unknown error calling GetQrLoginStatus status, code: NotFound, even for users who are signing in normally with a username and password.
Cause
The Mobile Service Unknown error calling GetQrLoginStatus message can be written to the error log in two different circumstances. Scanning the realm's QR code with a mobile authenticator app other than SecureAuth Authenticate is expected to produce this message, and is not a bug.
In SecureAuth Identity Platform 23.07 HF1 through HF11, and 24.4.0 through 24.4.3, the same message is also incorrectly written to the error log when a user signs in normally with a username and password. This second case is the defect described in this article — it does not indicate an actual authentication failure, and the affected sign-in still succeeds normally.
Resolution / Workaround
Upgrade to SecureAuth Identity Platform 24.4.7 or later to resolve this issue. Until upgrading, the log entries can be safely ignored when they correspond to normal username-and-password sign-ins.
