How To: Exclude a Realm From FileSync

Follow
    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: All

    Overview

By default, FileSync copies every realm on the IdP to the secondary server. This article explains how to exclude a specific realm from that automatic copying.

Disable Sharing for the Realm's Folder

FileSync works by copying every realm folder shared on the Primary server, so a realm is excluded by turning off Windows folder sharing for it.

    1. On the Primary (Master) IdP, open File Explorer and browse to D:\SecureAuth.
    2. Right-click the folder for the realm to exclude and select Properties.
    3. Go to the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing.
    4. Clear Share this folder.
    5. Click OK, then Close.

    Special Considerations

An enhancement request has been raised to allow a more user-friendly way of excluding realms from FileSync. Disabling Windows folder sharing directly, as described above, is the only option in the meantime.
