Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: Login for Windows (L4W) 19.06 and later

    Overview

After adding conf_version to the Login for Windows (L4W) config.json file, installing L4W fails with:

MSI (s): Product: SecureAuth Login for Windows -- Error parsing and validating configuration file -- see log file for details

    Cause

The config.json file is still in conf_version 1 format, which is not valid once conf_version is set to 2 or higher.

    Resolution:

Check that host, id, and secret are all present in the apis array, as shown below, then try installing again.

A config.json file with conf_version set to 2 and the apis array highlighted, containing host, id, and secret.
