Troubleshooting: BrainSpace SAML Integration Fails After Login

Follow
    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: 9.x

    Overview

When configuring SP-Initiated SAML with BrainSpace, the user is redirected to the Identity Provider (IdP), but the IdP returns an error after the user logs in.

    Cause

BrainSpace redirects the user from the Service Provider (SP) to the IdP the same way an SP-initiated flow would, but it never actually sends a SAML AuthN request.

    Resolution:

Because BrainSpace doesn't send an AuthN request, the realm needs to be configured for IdP-Initiated SAML instead of SP-Initiated:

    1. Open the Web Admin Console.
    2. Navigate to the realm's Post Auth page.
    3. Change the SAML assertion to SAML 2.0 (IdP Initiated).
    4. Save.

    Special Considerations

Make sure the Issuer and Audience configured on the realm match the identifier configured on the BrainSpace side.
