    Applies to:
  • SecureAuth Identity Platform
Deployment model:
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • On Premises
  • Version Affected: Verified with FileSync 4.0.13 and 4.1.5.6

    Overview

FileSync installs with a randomized local service account. This covers changing that account's name and password after the fact.

Change the FileSync Service Account Name and Password

    1. Stop the FileSync service on every SecureAuth IdP server in the cluster.
    2. On the Primary server, go to Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users, rename the FileSync service account, and set its new password.
    3. On the Primary server, open services.msc, open the SecureAuth FileSync service, and on the Log On tab, re-add the (renamed) service account and re-type the new password -- browse to the local appliance and look up the account by its new name.
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on every replica (Secondary) node.
    5. On every SecureAuth IdP server in the cluster, go to Computer Management > Shared Folders > Shares, open the FileSync share's properties, and confirm the new account name is reflected on both the Share Permissions and Security tabs.
