How To: Customize the User ID Value Returned in a Forgot Username Realm

Overview

By default, a Forgot Username realm's Post Authentication page doesn't display the value from the attribute set in User ID Mapping. This covers how to make it return the value from whichever attribute you want.

1. Change the attribute the realm searches on:
   • If the realm uses a New Experience data store, change the Encryption Attribute to the attribute you want returned.
   • If the realm is a Classic realm, change the Search Attribute to the attribute you want returned instead.
2. Change Validate User Type from Bind to Search.

Special Considerations:

To use the Send via email feature instead of displaying the value on screen, also change the Token Data Type (Send) field, under Custom Identity Consumer on the Post Authentication tab, to the attribute you want sent (for example, Email 1).

The Custom Identity Consumer section's Token Data Type (Send) dropdown, highlighted and set to Email 1.
