    Overview

This article explains how to deny user traffic to an unused SecureAuth realm without deleting the realm itself. This change can be reverted at any time to allow traffic again. An IIS URL Rewrite rule could accomplish the same result instead.

    Deny Traffic to a Realm

    1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    2. In the left panel, expand your machine's name, then Sites and Default Web Site, and select the realm you want to deny access to.
    3. Click the IP Address and Domain Restrictions icon.IIS Manager with a realm selected and the IP Address and Domain Restrictions icon highlighted.
    4. In the right panel, click Edit Feature Settings, set Access for unspecified clients to Deny, choose the desired Deny Action Type (for example, Forbidden), and click OK.The Edit IP and Domain Restrictions Settings dialog, with Access for unspecified clients set to Deny and Deny Action Type set to Forbidden.

While this Deny restriction is in place, it denies realm access to everyone who tries to reach it.

    Special Considerations

To remove the restriction later, return to the same IP Address and Domain Restrictions settings for the realm, open Edit Feature Settings again, set Access for unspecified clients back to Allow, and click OK.
