FAQ: What Hardware Tokens Are Compatible with Arculix Core and Device Trust?

Overview

This article explains which hardware token devices are compatible with Arculix Core and Device Trust. All Fast IDentity Online 2 (FIDO2)-compliant security keys should be compatible with Arculix Core and Device Trust for authenticating on a web browser or on Windows and macOS workstations.

Recommended Keys

We recommend the following keys for their support for biometrics and verified compatibility with Device Trust:

• Kensington VeriMark Guard (USB-C and USB-A)
• YubiKey Bio (USB-C and USB-A)

Both models are priced around $65-$85, though volume pricing may be available for large orders. A slightly cheaper alternative is a non-biometric FIDO2 security key such as the YubiKey 5 NFC (around $45), which relies on a PIN instead of biometrics to authenticate users.

Supported Authenticator Types

In summary, FIDO/WebAuthn on the web supports any FIDO2-compatible authenticator (USB security keys such as YubiKey, Kensington, or Feitian) and FIDO2-compatible platform authenticators (biometric hardware such as Apple Touch ID or Windows Hello).
