Forgotten Passcode Pin

Follow
    Applies to:
  • Legacy SecureAuth IdP
Deployment model:
  • On Premises
  • SecureAuth IdP Version affected:  All

    Description:
When a User has forgotten their PIN for the Passcode app, it is not possible to reset the pin.

For security, we wipe out all passcode data after 10 failed pin attempts by default. You can set this limit on the Post Auth page of the enrolment realm.

    Cause:
It's more secure to make a user re-register as they can then set a new passcode after going through the registration workflow, including any MFA that has been configured on the registration realm.

    Resolution:

To set a new PIN, please do the following

    1. Enter an Incorrect PIN 10 times. Warning: This wipes out all Passcode data

    2. This will bring you to this screen

    3. Click Add Account.

    4. You'll be prompted for the registration URL.

    5. Once you complete the registration process again, you can set the new PIN.
